    <title>Jul 13, Benefits of Chlorella</title>
    <link>http://www.well-women.com/women-blog.html#Benefits-of-Chlorella</link>
<description>We all know how important it is to detoxify daily. This means not only paying attention to what you eat, and drinking plenty of spring water, but also cutting down or preferably cutting out on sugar, processed foods, eating as much raw fruit and vegetables as possible, drinking herbal teas that are known to detoxify, such as dandelion, nettle, goldenseal and using products to enhance detoxification such as Barley Grass Powder, Flaxseed oil, Milk thistle and Chlorella.

Chlorella is very useful in aiding removal of heavy metals from the body because it binds with these metals and removes them from the bloodstream. Chlorella is also nutritious and helps digestion and is a natural deoderant so purifies the breath and can help where stools are foul smelling.

Remember though that Chlorella&#39;s heavy metal removal takes around 6 months and needs to be taken daily. However we can only benefit long term.

    <title>Jul 3, 100 Natural Beauty Products</title>
    <link>http://www.well-women.com/women-blog.html#100-Natural-Beauty-Products</link>
<description>When we are chronically ill (or even when we are not) we should be using products in our day to day lives that are as free from chemicals as we can get them.

Chemicals are endocrine disruptors and 60 per cent of what we put on our skin is absorbed into the bloodstream where these chemicals can then get stored in the liver.

Chemicals causes disruption to the working of our endocrine system and many are carcinogenic.

As part of the treatment protocol is to reduce or preferrably eliminate chemicals, we need to be looking at alternative choices.

Fluoride is chemically similar to iodine, so it competes with iodine at the thyroid receptor sites.

Make sure your toothpaste is free from chemicals, especially fluoride.

Remember, you use toothpaste twice or more every day, so that is a lot over a year and pretty scary over 10 years.

We might wonder if 100 per cent natural actually exists.

    <title>Jun 8, Manganese and the thyroid - the facts</title>
    <link>http://www.well-women.com/women-blog.html#Manganese-and-the-thyroid---the-facts</link>
<description>Manganese protects the liver, the thyroid, plays a role in fat metabolism and many other enzymatic processes. If the liver is under-performing, the thyroid hormone production process becomes distressed.

It seems that our entire endocrine system relies heavily on minerals to work correctly and this may be why so many are suffering - because of modern farming methods and heavy processing of food depleting nutritional levels in our food supply.

Manganese is crucial in the formation of thyroxine (T4) and also vitamin K. It is also essential for the correct metabolism of iron and many enzymatic processes depend on it such as cholesterol synthesis.

Too much iron or copper can deplete manganese as can too much manganese deplete iron and copper.

A deficiency can cause tinnitus, deafness, dizziness and deficiency also results in hypothyroidism, muscle co-ordination failure, convulsions, asthma, lack of libido, joint problems, TMJ, ringing in ears, disruption to fat and carbohydrate metabolism, fatigue, allergies, hypoglycaemia, diabetes etc.

Symptoms of too much include anorexia, iron and copper deficiency, neurological problems, criminal behaviour, schizophrenia

Antagonists: Iron, copper tranquillisers

To read more about how it affects the thyroid and how a deficiency can cause high levels of T3 in the blood, please click the permalink below.</description>

    <title>May 24, Scoliosis And the Thyroid</title>
    <link>http://www.well-women.com/women-blog.html#Scoliosis-And-the-Thyroid</link>
<description>I keep coming across information on the net connecting scoliosis and hypothyroidism.

This article is interesting and implicating diet as a cause.

I can see how logistically this could be the case as poor diet at puberty disrupts metabolism which in turn brings about problems with bone formation at a vunerable time.

However, I think it goes back further to our mothers and their diet.

I think it is a long chain almost stemming back generations to our mothers mothers and so on. All linked to a lifetime of poverty and malnourishment.

In turn, we are of course affected genetically. Purely my opinion, but having had numerous conversations with women with thyroid disease and listening to their history, it seems we all have had mothers or grandmothers who lived in poverty. Does this explain it?

Please click below to go to the book shop to find valuable books about Liver Cleansing. Decongested Livers are not good when we have endocrine issues such as adrenal fatigue and thyroid disease.

Often our medications won&#39;t work optimally, if at all because of this and we remain toxic.
