Latest News 27th December

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I was totally exhausted and slept for 3 hours on the sofa on Christmas day after dinner, even though we had guests (our mothers and a friend)!!!!

We also had 12 for dinner on Boxing day, so we never stopped.

Don't you find that you spend so much time running around buying things prior to the day, and going in and out of shops? We were even in Asda at midnight one of the days. Mike went food shopping at 7am on Christmas eve.

We ordered a lot of things online and quite a few didn't turn up. When Mike phoned them today, they hadn't even been despatched. Strange considering he was assured that they were on the van and due for delivery on Christmas Eve. This was Debenhams by the way!!

One of my Christmas presents was a large jar of Manuka Honey, UMF 20+....Yum!, and a book about Chakra clearing, which will be interesting. Also essential oils and a very pretty oil burner amongst many things.

It has been been exhausting this year more so than ever, and we still have guests for dinner on Sunday, and a new years party to host. All I want to do is sleep!!!

Today we are going to have a look in the sales. (we must be mad)

What is your New Years resolution for 2008?

I always say I am going to do this or that in the way of new year resolutions, but never pull it off. Below is a list of things to "remove" for 2008.

Recommended R's for 2008:

1. Remove toxins from your life. (household chemicals, beauty products, food with additives, alternate hair colour etc)

2. Remove bad eating habits: Eat well and healthily (usual reduce fat and sugar, increase fibre, fruit and veg. Take valuable supplements)

3. Remove stress. Use meditation techniques Yoga etc

4. Remove laziness!!! Exercise. A little or a lot (but not too much) For scoliosis, Yoga is great too as is swimming.

5. Remove ignorance and illness!! Learn about your condition and or symptoms. See your doctor and also do something to help yourself by experimenting with solutions and therapies such as those mentioned on this site. Stick to it and feel the benefits. Chances are, by 2009, you won't have to make any resolutions at all!!

6. Remove intimidation. Dont let the medical profession keep intimidating you and making you feel silly. If you remain unwell, tell them and insist on either investigation or treatment. Don't let them stuff you with pills that your don't need either. Ask questions and ask about alternatives. It's your health and they are often ignorant themselves. (My GP often has to consult a medical book in front of me.) Gp's have a budget to stick to and targets to achieve. Many are focused purley on them and not on you.

7. Remove impatience: If you have an autoimmune disease, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Many supplements, medications and therapies take time to work and overnight reults must not be expected. It can take a year or two to improve enough to see a significant result. However, don't be disheartnened by this. You have to start somewhere and better late than never. Keep watching this site which is dedicated to finding more and more solutions and ideas to help you. Always remember, I have some of the conditions myself and I am not doing this for the fun of it nor am I getting paid. I am doing it because I genuinely want to help all of us to get well. Why keep the solutions to myself when others can benefit too? This is my vocation and I take it seriously.

8. Remove shyness, doubt and fear: If you need me, contact me.I will always reply. If I can offer help and support, I will. Remember also, I am not a doctor and have no medical qualifications of any kind. However, I am practical and logical. But, I can only give you my opinion and tell you what I think you should do and offer solutions based on my own experiences and research. I am still not a substitute for a doctor. I am more of a additional idea alongside proper medical advice. Since my trust in GP's is limited,(Lets hope there is some good ones out there) this advice is only based on my own experience, research, trial, error and pure determination to get well myself.

It's Official!!!

I have a dormant tooth abcess which can be felt when I press my face near the jaw as a hard lump about the size of a marble which is quite big when its just inside your face!! It is painless (at the moment) but can feel tender at times when I am run down and I have had serious problems with it last year when I was in so much pain, I would have gladly put myself out of my misery just to be out of pain. Needless to say, and as with all tooth abcesses, pain killers did not even touch it. I spent two days rinsing my mouth constantly with iced water every time the pain welled up (about every 40 seconds and only relieved by the iced water) and had to spend all day with a bowl or standing by a sink.

I have been taking the Chamae Rose for a few weeks now and the abcess has reduced substantially in size and remains painless. I have noticed many benefits from taking this and will continue. I have just ordered another one. I take two dropperfuls in warm water twice a day. Also, it dries up mucus so I can breathe clearly through my nose which is pretty rare for me.

Latest News 14th December

I attended my appointment yesterday at St Thomas's Hospital in London for my thyoid and they are now doing more blood tests for anti-nuclear anti-bodies, DNA anti-bodies and cortisol levels.

Why have they not done them before?

They are also referring me to the M.E clinic at Kings College Hospital, Camberwell. They have at last acknowledged that I have Chronic Fatigue Syndome.....Hurrah!!! I could have told them this years ago.

See, this is what annoys me and why I have made this site. I hate to think of all the women who are unwell and constantly being fobbed off with "We are all tired due to working and a hectic life and you have young children as well so what do you expect?"

I think I must have visited my doctor somewhere around 20 times complaining of tiredness. When we talk about tiredness, we don't just mean feeling tired like most people do. We mean real mind numbing fatigue, pains everywhere, drained and exhausted to the point of collapse, don't we? We mean sleeping for hours during the day and waking up feeling like you have never been to bed at all. We mean joint pains that stab all day long and a permanent feeling of having the 'flu.

We carry on though, don't we? For years. Wondering every day why we feel so dreadful. We exist in our marriages and partnerships, often with a very unsympathetic husband who just thinks we make excuses all the time and then eventually leaves because they can't cope with us and our array of illnesses.

We struggle through each day, sometimes frightened by our symptoms, thinking we have something very serious to be feeling so awful. We are often depressed sometimes seriously so. Each day is another day of trying to get through and coping with school runs and nagging whining children, shopping, dinner preparation, tidying the house and thinking "Is this it?"

We argue with our partners who sometimes think we are just being lazy when we can hardly move with bone aching and muscle weakness and pain.

Then we go to the doctor. That one person who we think can help and every single time we are told the same old thing.

Don't let them keep telling you the same old rubbish

Tell them you have been like it forever and how debilitating it is. Make them hear you. Tell them you can't carry on because basically, life is hell.

I hope you all listen. I know you are aware of what I am saying. If so, don't be intimidated. Just because they are a doctor doesn't mean the are superior to you. At the end of the day, You know how you feel and You have to put up with it.
